Data Warehouse Architect
Job Description:
The job will require the candidate to wear multiple hats and play multiple roles on client engagements, and can include technical development, project scoping, solution testing, client training, and project management.
The core of our work is predicated on our understanding of the business process at hand and how data supports that process. Over the long term, your exposure to industry and business process will be broad, and your technical exposure will be deep.
Requirements:
Experience with data warehouse/data mart definition and design to support business analytics and reporting
Sound knowledge of Kimball and Inmon data warehousing methodologies
Advanced SQL programming experience
Query and database tuning experience
Knowledget of ETL design and development best practices
Exposure to one of more of the following databases:
- Oracle 8 and greater
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and greater
- DB2
- Sybase
- Teradata
- Informix
Exposure to one of more of the following toolsets:
- Oracle client tools and warehouse builder
- Ascential Datastage
- Informatica
- Microsoft DTS and Microsoft SSIS
- DB2 Warehouse Manager
- Data Junction
- Ab Initio
- Cognos DecisionStream
Preferred:
In addition to the skill requirements, the following skills would be preferred in a data warehouse architect:
- Knowledge of MDX queries and statements
- Exposure to one or more of the following OLAP engines:
Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 and greater Cognos PowerPlay Applix TM1 Mondrian MIS Area Hyperion Essbase 6.0 and greater Oracle Express
